KIA Niro: Transmission Gear Oil Repair procedures
Oil Level Check
Inspection
- Remove the under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
- Remove the oil filler plug (A or B).
- Check the condition of the oil and make sure that it is at the proper level (A).
- Install the oil filler plug (A).
Tightening torque : 58.9 - 78.5 N*m (6.0 - 8.0 kgf*m, 43.4 - 57.8 lb*ft)
Warning
The existing oil filler plug gasket must be replaced with a new one. (Do not reuse it.)
- Install the under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
Replacement
- Remove the under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
- Remove the drain plug (A), allow the oil to drain out and then reinstall the drain plug.
Tightening torque : 44.1 - 58.9 N.m (4.5 - 6.0 kgf.m, 32.6 - 43.4 lbf-ft)
Warning
The existing oil drain plug gasket must be replaced with a new one. (Do not reuse it.)
- Remove the oil filler plug (A or B).
- Fill the transmission with transmission oil through the filler hole.
Recommended :
- Kia Genuine oil : SK HK SYN DCTF 70W, SHELL SPIRAX S6 GHME 70W DCTF, GS CALTEX

Capacity :
1.6 - 1.7 L (0.42 - 0.44 U.S gal., 1.69 - 1.79 U.S.qt., 1.41 - 1.49 lmp qt.)
Warning
If genuine DCT oil that is developed for best performance is not using, it may cause the problems of transmission performance.
Make sure that oil level is at the proper level (A).
- Install the oil filler plug.
Tightening torque : 58.9 - 78.5 N*m (6.0 - 8.0 kgf*m, 43.4 - 57.8 lb*ft)

- Install the under cover.

Description
The Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) control system measures data required for identifying the state of control target and computes the appropriate compensation value if adjustment is necessary.
The actuator is controlled according to the computed compensation value to obtain desired output.
